Resort wins ‘Best Achievement in Design' award
The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort has won the ‘Best Achievement in Design', award organised by Virtuoso Hotels & Resort and Virtuoso Life magazine.
The iconic 197-room resort, located 600 metres above sea level on the Son Tra Peninsula in the central city, was among the top five for the design awards including resorts from Chinese Taipei, Japan and the Netherlands.
Virtuoso, the international network of luxury travel agencies, has announced the nominees for its prestigious ‘Best of the Best' awards, which recognises the industry's top properties and hoteliers. It also represents the highest standard in their given category as only 50 properties are under consideration for the awards.
As scheduled, the awards ceremony will be held at Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, on August 12.
"Although it is never easy selecting this year's Best of the Best nominees from among our valued portfolio, just garnering a nomination is an achievement in itself. We are pleased to announce the 50 partners that specifically excelled in a number of categories from design and culinary to innovative guest experience and spa," Albert Herrera, senior vice president, Global Products Partnerships for Virtuoso, said.
The Da Nang-based resort, which was designed by architect Bill Bensley, also won four awards in various categories at the World Travel Awards last year.
In 2012, Conde Nast Traveller chose the resort as one of the 154 best new hotels in the world.
The resort hosted a three-day vacation of billionaire financier George Soros in 2012.
