NUOL Job Fair marks five years of operation

Some 50 companies from government and private companies are working in collaboration with the National University of Laos (NUOL) in Vientiane to make job opportunities available to new graduates.

The NUOL is currently organising its 5th annual job fair to link new graduates with potential employers in both the government and private sect ors.

The event was attended by Vice-President of the National University of Laos, Assoc.Prof. Lammai Phiphakhavong, officials from 11 faculties and over 200 students.

Assoc.Prof. Lammai reported that the NUOL is concentrating on improving the standards of the human resources who will fuel economic growth and drive development in the years ahead.

At the conclusion of the 2014-2015 Academic year, more than 8,000 students from 11 faculties at the NUOL are expected to graduate.

The annual job fair is an important initiative to encourage students to realise the opportunities and career pathways open to them when they graduate and embark on their new careers.

Besides that the job fair also offers an important opportunity for private businesses and government institutions to secure the most promising and talented young graduates and recruit them to join their organisations.

Assoc.Prof. Lammai said that this year a total of fifteen companies have registered to take part and he expects the event to be of a similar to the previous year.

The event is running from June 25-26, 8am - 4pm.
