Expos to give shot in the arm to manufacturing sector

ASEAN’s leading exhibition organiser Reed Tradex Co., Ltd. hopes to drive the growth of the manufacturing industry in Vietnam via its two high-profile exhibitions, Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2015, and NEPCON Vietnam 2015. Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, deputy managing director and general manager of Reed Tradex in Vietnam spoke with VIR’s Thanh Tung about the upcoming events.

How will the Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2015 and NEPCON Vietnam 2015 benefit exhibitors, visitors, related associations and Vietnam’s manufacturing industry?

Vietnam’s economy is developing faster than other regional nations. Vietnamese people are spending more on luxury and high-quality items. Compared to four years ago, Vietnam’s consumption of automobiles has increased significantly, and its retail revenue is the highest in Southeast Asia.

Over the next three years, the demand for machinery and electronic appliances in Vietnam is likely to soar. These factors are prompting us to organise these two big events in Hanoi this year.

With specific regard to the Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2015, scheduled to take place in Hanoi during September 10–12, this will be Vietnam’ largest and most comprehensive show for manufacturing and supporting industries. It will offer Vietnamese manufacturers in the auto parts, plastics and rubber, mold and die, and other related sectors, modern innovations and technologies from about 280 global exhibitors. This will be an ideal ground for visitors and exhibitors to discover new technologies that will offer the next level of productivity, collect new knowledge and new ideas, and expand their business networks.

Meanwhile, NEPCON Vietnam 2015, to be organised during September 17-19, will be the only event of its kind in the field of electronics manufacturing.

This unique event will be a platform for international technology providers to jointly drive the growth of the electronics industry in Hanoi. It will attract global electronics manufacturers who are planning expansion or investment here. This will be a good opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to present innovative technologies to electronics manufacturers, meet with potential buyers, and network with local manufacturers for securing future opportunities and orders. At this event, more than 100 brand owners from many countries will gather to meet thousands of quality buyers. Additionally, there will be a workshop and technology presentations by experts and exhibitors to provide visitors with the latest industry trends, market developments, and a better understanding of current needs within the electronics industry.

The exhibitions are aimed to showcase products and help improve visitors’ awareness as well

How will these events be different from the previous exhibitions?

Our exhibitions are not merely intended to showcase products – it’s very important to us that we also help improve visitors’ awareness of the products. Notably, the events will see foreign engineers and inventors who will meet with Vietnamese engineers to exchange know-how and skills.

We will also use social networks to promote these events and increase co-operation between enterprises, as well as between enterprises and consumers.

What are Reed Tradex’s plans for future exhibitions?

Within the next three years after 2015, we will organise two other events. The first will be an exhibition on hi-tech solutions for retailers. It will showcase assorted products used in the retail industry, such as cameras, and software for the management of goods and inventory. The second event will be about lifestyle, which will showcase products used to improve the quality of people’s lives.

During October 8-10, 2015, we will be organising METALEX Vietnam 2015, which will assemble the latest machine tools and metalworking solutions by 500 brands from 25 countries. This will be a well-established platform for metalworking technologies in Vietnam.

How important are green products to Reed Tradex’s exhibitions?

We may not organise an exhibition exclusively for green products in Vietnam. However, green products and technologies have been showcased in all exhibitions we have organised. Also, we always use environmental-friendly and recycled materials for organising all events.
