Construction of beach resort begins in Binh Dinh
FLC Group launched the construction of Nhon Ly Complex in the central Binh Dinh Province's Quy Nhon City on May 23.
The complex's beach villa clusters will be the country's first project to achieve seven-star standards.
Spread over 300ha, the VND3.5-trillion (US$160.77 million) complex will also have luxury resorts, golf courses, hotels and five-star restaurants, as well as an international convention centre and a lavish entertainment area.
It will be located adjacent to Eo Gio (Windy Strait), which reportedly is the place where people can witness the most gorgeous sunrises in Viet Nam.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, FLC's Vice-Chairman of the management board Doan Van Phuong said the project was not only meaningful to the group, but also represented the province's desire to fully exploit its tourism potential.
"We are committed to mobilising all resources to quickly implement the project," Phuong said.
Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Ho Quoc Dung said the Nhon Ly resort project would help improve the province's tourism sector and lure investment, contributing substantially to its development and providing jobs for the local people.
The province's leaders also committed to provide overall support to the complex, such as easier administrative procedures and preferential tax and financial treatment.
The project is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2016.
The project was a record for the group in terms of the time it took to launch it, as well as being awarded the licence in the shortest period yet.
