Century 21 franchises connect local agents to international buyers

Century 21 has made its mark in the real estate franchising business in Cambodia with 15 offices already signed under the world-recognised brand. At a special franchise dinner held at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal this week, Century 21 Cambodia CEO, Kevin Goos highlighted that Century 21 was the only brand with a strong regional footprint in South East Asia, providing local real estate agents and international buyers access to a trusted and powerful network.

“What we are doing in Cambodia is entering the market and increasing the level of professionalism with the Cambodian agent, so they can compete on an international level and work in the global marketplace,” Kevin Goos said.

With 7,100 offices, across 75 countries and over 100,000 sales associates, Century 21 is well positioned to promote new real estate developments in Cambodia to surrounding countries.

“Cambodia is the most attractive market in Asia for real estate development,” Goos said. “Most new property developments in Cambodia are selling to international buyers for many reasons but primarily because it is a good investment and Century 21 is the strongest in Taiwan, Japan, China, Singapore and Hong Kong, with over 35,000 agents in these countries who all focus on sales.”

Speaking at the dinner, Director of Operations Taiwan, Jason Wang confirmed this by saying that Century 21’s global footprint was attractive to investors in a foreign country as it was a familiar brand that had demonstrated trust and traction in the region. With a recent downturn in the Taiwanese property market they have been able to promote Cambodian projects to their investors, demonstrating the strong networking benefits of Century 21’s franchises.

Wang also said that their Taiwanese online platforms showcased Cambodian projects to attract investors from Taiwan, especially Taipei and other developers looking to invest in the region.

Goos singled out Fuji Housing as one of the most successful franchises in 2014 with offices in both Cambodia and Japan. The Cambodian Century 21 franchise has proved successful due to its Japanese speaking staff who, under the guidance of General Manager Ouk Chnengly, have built strong connections with Japanese buyers.

Not only do Century 21 franchises have access to a global network– they also benefit from a powerful brand, state of the art technology, customized training through the Century 21 University and marketing support, including the trademark yellow blazer.

Goos also unveiled an additional service at the franchise dinner called Showroom Pro. The new service will assist developers to set up showrooms of international standards with top sales service.

“Too many 100 million dollar projects are losing a lot of money every day due to lack in trained showroom sales staff, this might be the biggest problem developers face in Cambodia,” Goos said.
