Nestle opens new coffee facility in Dong Nai

Nestle has began operation of its new facility to produce decaffeinated coffee beans in the southern province of Dong Nai’s Amata Industrial Park.

The $80-million facility, the second phase of the Nestle Tri An plant, will produce decaffeinated coffee beans for use in Nestle plants all around the world. This is the first decaffeinated coffee bean factory in Vietnam and Nestle’s second globally.

“The investment shows our faith in Vietnam, where we have been operating for 20 years,” said Nestle’s CEO Paul Bulcke.

The first phase of the Nestle Tri An plant began production in November 2012, and produces coffee products for sale domestically and for export.

Nestlé currently has five factories in Vietnam with the total investment of $450 million and employs more than 2,000 people. Its brands in Vietnam include Nescafé, Nestlé Milo, Maggi, Nan, Lactogen, Cerelac and Lavie.
