Dong Nai businesses eye direct exports to US

Dong Nai's woodwork and ceramic products have strong potential for direct export to the US market, a US business delegation said, while meeting with Vietnamese firms in the southern province.

The meeting on January 29 was aimed at teaming up with local companies and tapping their export potential. The US delegation advised local woodwork companies to assemble their products in the United States to reduce transport costs and gain more incentives, while touring some of their production plants.

The delegation also pointed out that the exports need to meet their country's origin and quality standards, and should be priced competitively and allow favourable payment.

Prior to the meeting, the US delegation had met with the management board of the locality's industrial parks in a bid to learn about investment procedures and sectors that Dong Nai prioritises in terms of investment attraction.
