Trade with Singapore surges 20% to nearly $16 billion

Bilateral trade between Viet Nam and Singapore reached S$20.4 billion (US$15.6 billion) in 2014, up 20.3 per cent year on year, vietnamplus.vn reported.

Viet Nam shipped S$4.05 billion ($3.1 billion) worth of commodities to the country, a yearly rise of 22.4 per cent, according to the Singapore Department of Statistics. The primary exports were telephones and electronics goods and components, minerals, coffee, tea, footwear, machines and crude oil.

Singapore's exports to Viet Nam surged 20.1 per cent to $12.75 billion last year, focusing on telephones, electronics goods and components, petroleum, plastic and plastic products.
