First flight from revamped airport terminal takes off

Vietnam Airlines became the first firm to utilise the newly built T2 international terminal at Noi Bai Airport, with its Singapore flight VN661 taking off from here on December 25.

All international flights of Vietnam Airlines, including those to Taipei and Kuala Lumpur, will take off from the new terminal after it is officially opened on December 31.

The US$900-million new four-storey terminal can handle about 10 million passengers each year, significantly reducing the burden on the existing terminal, which received 12 million passengers last year.
