VN wins top Asian business award

Viet Nam won an award for being "Asia's Most Attractive Nation for Manufacturing" in Kuala Lumpur on November 21, beating 20 shortlisted Asian countries, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

The award is part of the Top Asia Corporation Ball 2014, held annually by Kuala Lumpur-based organisation Top 10 of Asia Initiative, to honour the achievement of individuals, organisations and nations in Asia.

About 900 business managers, directors and diplomats from more than 20 Asian countries, including Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Pham Cao Phong, attended the event.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Minister of the Malaysian Prime Minister's Department Wee Ka Siong expressed the hope that the awards will encourage individuals and organisations in various sectors across Asia towards greater achievements in the future.

Among the other awards presented were "Asia's Best Island Nation Destination" to Maldives, "Fastest Economic Growth Nation in Asia" to the Philippines and "Asia's Most Inspiring Platform for Business Talents" to Singapore, as well as "Asia's Best Nation in Argo-Industry Development" to Uzbekistan and "Asia's Most Attractive Medical Tourism Destination" to Thailand.
