DHL launches first intra-Asia express service flight

DHL, the world's leading cross-border express services provider, has announced the launching of a new intra-Asia network flight connecting Thailand, Viet Nam and Hong Kong.

The flight, the latest enhancement to DHL's Asia air network, was launched on November 3 and will connect Bangkok, Ha Noi and Hong Kong five times a week.

The new route shortens the transit time for shipments on the DHL intra-Asia network to and from Ha Noi to one day, allowing businesses and consumers to enjoy the earliest arrival time in and latest departure time from the city. Its introduction also eases congestion at DHL's bustling hub in Hong Kong.

Based on a recent report from the International Monetary Fund, Asia is poised to spearhead global economic recovery.

Strong GDP growth has been forecast across the region with Viet Nam achieving 5.6 per cent, followed by Hong Kong at 3.7 per cent and Thailand at 2.5 per cent, said Jerry Hsu, chief executive officer of DHL Express Asia Pacific.
