Big C eyes purchase of more products from Khanh Hoa firms

At a meeting with nearly 60 small and medium-d suppliers in Khanh Hoa Province French supermarket chain Big C on October 17 discussed purchase of products from them.

The companies specialise in fresh and dried seafood and food, bird's nest, fruits and vegetables, beverages, animal and poultry meat, and local specialities.

The supermarket apprised them about its purchasing process, its new policies for local suppliers, and a programme to help producers bring their products into the modern trade channel.

Organised by the supermarket and the province's Department of Industry and Trade, the seminar is part of the former's efforts to increase its local sourcing.

It has so far signed deals worth around VND109 billion (US$5.13 million) with 205 small and medium-d producers following nine similar meetings in Hue and Nghe An, Nam Dinh, and other provinces.
