Favorable conditions created to attract more investment

Viet Nam will create all possible favorable conditions to attract more foreign investment to production, business and trade, regarding the capital source as crucial to the nation’s socio-economic development.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement in his speech delivered at the 2014 Mid-term Viet Nam Business Forum on June 5.

Macro-economy stabilized

The PM highlighted socio-economic development achievements over the past few months. The macro-economy has stabilized; inflation has been curbed; exports turnover increased more than 20% in 2011-2013; foreign reserves sharply rose; bad debts have been controlled.

The PM shared the regrettable problem triggered due to China’s illegal deployment of its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou - 981 in Viet Nam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. Spontaneous demonstrations happened in some provinces. Some extremists destroyed property and estates of some foreign businesses.

Viet Nam promptly prevented this action and helped these damaged businesses to re-operate, he said, adding that Viet Nam is a reliable partner of the international community. The nation will accelerate the sustainable and fast development of the economy as well as social progress and fairness.

Investment environment improved

PM Nguyen Tan Dung revealed that Viet Nam is establishing a five-year socio-economic development plan and five solutions will be launched in the future.

Firstly, Viet Nam will complete the market economy mechanism fully, effectively and actively as well as accelerate the effectiveness of its wide and deep integration into the international community and the world’s economy.

The Vietnamese Government will implement measures to monitor and orient the economy and enhance an advanced and fair society.

The nation will issue regulations to guarantee the freedom for businesses and further streamline administrative procedures to facilitate enterprises' highly efficient operation.

Secondly, Viet Nam has pushed up the economic restructure process in a more competitive and effective way, PM Dung confirmed.

Thirdly, the nation will implement mechanisms to encourage all economic sectors both domestic and foreign to engage in economic and social infrastructure development.

The Government has focused on training human resources, especially high-quality resources to meet the needs of the labor market and businesses.

Fourthly, Viet Nam will guarantee and bring into full play the direct democratic rights of people in raising the effectiveness of a State of law.

Last but not least, the PM affirmed that Viet Nam has guaranteed and will guarantee political stability, social order and safety and a peaceful environment for all people.

Viet Nam will ensure absolute security and safety for foreign organizations, businesses and individuals in Viet Nam, he stressed.

The nation will struggle with peaceful measures to protect its sovereignty based on international law, PM Dung re-confirmed.
