ASEAN's largest automotive, electronics manufacturing technology expos open in Thailand

Two exhibitions of auto parts and electronic parts manufacturing technologies opened on June 19 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Thailand.

Manufacturing Expo and Nepcon Thailand, the largest of their kind in any ASEAN member nation, have attracted more than 1,600 brands from 30 countries, an increase of 20 per cent from last year, according to Suttisak Wilanan, project director of Reed Tradex, the organiser of the events.

Manufacturing Expo focuses on machinery and technology for the production of automotive parts divided into four manufacturing sectors -- plastics and rubber manufacturing, mold and die manufacturing, metal automotive parts, and automation in manufacturing.

Nepcon Thailand features machinery, equipment, and solutions for manufacturing electronic parts for measuring and quality testing.

The two events are expected to provide industrialists across Asia the chance to identify the technologies required to improve their efficiency and competitiveness and look for business opportunities, Suttisak said.

Masashito Kishi, director general of Sansei Industry Viet Nam Co., Ltd, which produce products in various hydraulic equipment, pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and others that are the pivots of construction and agricultural machinery and machine tools, told Việt Nam News that the company is taking part in the shows to look for new export markets.

The events will also feature professional seminars, including one on green mobility where leading experts will present the latest advances in various related fields.

The expos, to run until June 22, are expected to receive 55,000 visitors.
