Construction of paper facility resumes

Southern Hau Giang province's People's Committee has shown the green light to the Lee & Man Group to resume the construction of a US$1.2 billion paper complex.

In June 2007, the provincial People's Committee had initially granted an investment licence for the construction of the complex, but it was delayed four times due to financial and scheduling reasons.

With a total investment capital of $1.2 billion, including over $350 million in the first phase, the construction is set to resume in April 2014.

The complex is expected to be fully operational by 2015 with a capacity of producing 600,000 tonnes of paper per year.
