New securities company opens in Laos
The Agriculture Promotion Bank has teamed with Lao and Chinese partners to establish a securities company.
The bank, the Lao Information Industry Company and the Pacific Securities Company (China) held a ceremony at Don Chan Palace in Vientiane earlier this week to open the Lao-China Securities Company.
Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Somsavat Lengsavad, Ambassador of China in Laos, Mr Kuan Huaping and a number of special guests attended the event.
The company is the first Lao-Chinese joint venture aiming to pro vide consulting and brokering services for Lao and Chinese people who want to invest in the Lao stock market, which expects to list more firms in the near future. The company office is located at the Lao Stock Market in Vientiane.
Director General of the Lao Securities and Exchange Commission Office Mrs Vathana Dalaloy, said at the ceremony that the Lao-China Securities Company would play a role to develop the capital market in Laos. She said that a number of state enterprises were preparing to list on the Lao Securities Exchange.
“We hope the Laos-China Stock Securities Company will be successful in running its business and be able to overcome the difficulties in the future,” she said.
