HCM City, Israel lift co-operation credentials

Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee Le Hoang Quan has emphasised that his city will create the most favourable conditions for Israeli enterprises' business investment in the locality.

At a Monday reception for visiting Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Yair Shamir, Chairman Quan highly valued the outcomes of the co-operation in agriculture between Viet Nam and Israel, and HCM City and Israeli partners in particular.

Quan also said he believes that Israel will continue to establish development co-operation programmes with the country and the city as well.

The Vietnamese city and Israel have great co-operation potential and can further intensify their mutual collaboration, especially in economics, he added.

For his part, Yair Shamir voiced his wish that his country and HCM City will also promote their co-operation in various fields other than agriculture, such as education, healthcare and information and technology.

The two sides expressed pleasure at their flourishing co-operative ties, notably the implementation of a project on dairy cow breeding in Binh Chanh District, which will lay a sound foundation for deploying other projects in the time to come.

On the same day, Vietnamese and Israeli business players also gathered at a forum to seek co-operation opportunities, especially in hi-tech farming.

Top Israeli farming enterprises like Agrotop, Afimilk, Haifa Chemical and Netafim introduced their effective projects on waste treatment plants, abattoirs, animal feed, and cattle and poultry farms.
