Hoang Anh Gia Lai denies seizing land, illegally exploiting wood and other corruption behaviors in Laos and Cambodia

Subsidiaries of HAG Group (HOSE: HAG) currently do investing activities in the field of rubber tree and sugarcane planting in Laos and Cambodia. HAG believe that we conform to the local laws strictly, including forest protection. HAG does not take part in wood exploitation including profitable wood in transferable area of HAG. Lao and Cambodian Governments have full rights to control, owe and decide all of the wood volumes.

In terms of corruption, Global Witness has not submitted any detailed proof. HAG is willing to wait until Global Witness and reporters of media agencies
give detailed and relevant proofs. HAG will be ready to solve related problems.

As a group has large-scale investment activities in Laos and Cambodia, we are contributing to the development of local economy by paying tax, creating sustainable jobs to more than ten thousand local laborers and have many community contributions. In recent years, HAG has built more than 2,000 houses for the poor, hundreds of kilometers of streets and electricity line system; many bridges connecting villages; a hospital of 200 beds; and a lot of schools. HAG also has raised a fund for hunger eradication and poverty reduction programs. We receive support and high appreciation from Lao and Cambodian Governments. Moreover, governments of two countries encourage other investors to follow the business model of HAG.

Global Witness has contacted us and given us a range of questions about activities of HAG; however, they do not provide and share proofs and also not raise any detailed proof relating to problems that they mentioned.

HAG sent the official invitation to Global Witness to visit any project that we are executing. They answered that they intended to visit Vietnam in May, until now they have not contacted to arrange detailed schedule yet.

The above is some information relating to accusation of Global Witness Organization that HAG wants to provide Press and Information Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

HAG is honored to invite Press and Information Department, press and media agencies to visit any project of HAGL in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

You can point out shortcomings in terms of management, environment and society in business activity of HAG. We are ready to listen to your comments so that we can do business better.

Once more, we confirm that HAG is ready to cooperate to deal with all matters related to investment activities in Laos and Cambodia whenever Global Witness submits the relevant proofs.
