Price of fuel drops again

The government has announced a reduction in the fuel price six times over the past three months in line with market mechanisms, with the last announcement issued last Thursday.

This is the third time in a month that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced a reduction in the fuel price, after previously announcing price reductions for both petrol and diesel on March 6 and again on March 20.

The latest announcement sees prices fall by 210 kip per litre. Currently, petrol stations in Vientiane should sell premium grade petrol for 11,680 kip a litre, regular petrol for 10,280 kip and diesel for 9,190 kip.

In Khammuan province, premium petrol sells at 10,670 kip and regular petrol at 10,320 kip, while diesel sells for 9,230 kip.

In Savannakhet and Champassak provinces prices should be 11,790 kip a litre for premium, 10,330 kip for regular and 9,230 kip for diesel, while in Bokeo province they sell regular petrol at 10,400 kip and diesel at 9,290 kip.

In Xieng Khuang province meanwhile, regular petrol will now sell for 10,510 kip per litre and diesel for 9,350 kip.
