Kingdom, Japan to ink $33.9m grant today
Cambodia will sign a $33.9 million grant aid today from the Japanese government to support various small hydropower dam projects, improve a hospital and update resources of a university, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Cambodia’s Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and the Japanese ambassador to Cambodia Yuji Kumamaru will ink the agreements today at the Foreign Ministry, the press release said.Japan will contribute $14.33 million to improve the Referral Hospital in Preah Sihanouk province, $13.1 million will go to the construction and rehabilitation of some small hydropower plants in the northeastern Ratanakkiri province and $6.47 million will go to improve the facilities and laboratory equipment of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia.
Japan is the largest donor to Cambodia, followed by China.
