Pearl of the Gulf of Tonkin awaits to be explored

Cat Ba Island generous natural bounties await to be tapped. From Binh wharf in Haiphong city, visitors can reach Cat Ba Island quickly by speedboat, covering the route in only 35 minutes. Those who prefer to enjoy the spacious sea can choose to spend to hours to go by a ferry.

When leaving Binh wharf, the alluvial delta makes the water of the vast estuary muddy. But a few minutes later, the sea turns emerald; all sky, water and island blend together in an immense green.

After the boat ride, you can get a little dizzy when setting foot on the island, but that feeling will pass quickly. Beautiful and gentle Cat Ba Island with crescent-shaped beaches appears in front of the eyes, and each breath fills our chests with sea air that brings a fresh feeling to visitors.

All of this is a hint of why Cat Ba - the largest island in the Gulf of Tonkin –has been called the pearl island, a reflection of the bewitching charm of nature.

As more visitors come to Cat Ba, the infrastructure here has been increasingly improved. The meandering and winding trans-island roads are much widened, and more restaurants and hotels have opened.

A major example is the Cat Ba Amatina – a top-notch integrated project of marina, casino, theme park and resorts, which is being developed, built and managed by Vinaconex ITC, a member unit of Vinaconex Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading corporations in real estate and construction.

Its infrastructure was being completed gradually with the aim of helping the small island become an international tourism destination. Cat Ba Amatina connects to the curve along the mountains and the coast of Cai Gia Gulf, making this beautiful gulf come alive, softer and sexier, creating an ideal living space for where human and nature blend together.

Only a short time after the Amatina project is completed, expectations are high that Cat Ba Island would become not only a precious pearl of the Gulf of Tonkin, but also the pride of Vietnam’s tourism.

The vision is for a tourist destination that stretches from the coast to the island. Spreading from Cat Ba townlet to Tran Chan commune in Haiphong city’s Cat Hai district, Cat Ba Amatina is part of an international integrated eco-tourism zone combining with seven resorts that include about 800 villas, three marinas, one boat wharf, an international convention palace, an international commercial centre, a sports centre, a multifunction entertainment centre and seven five-star hotels. The goal is for it to be recognized as a top-end integrated resort in the future and one of the most appealing tourism venues in the region and in the world.

Vinaconex ITC,as owner of the project, wants to team up with domestically and internationally prestigious partners to invest in service components, such hotels and marinas, as well as sell resort packages with attractive incentives to offer.
