Retail sales up nearly 19% in seven months

The total value of retail sales of goods and services was estimated at VND 1,327.5 trillion, up 18.74%, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

Commercial business reached US$1.027 trillion, up 18.2% against the same period last year and occupied 77.4% of the national total consumption revenue.

Catering and hotel services were estimated at VND 153.3 trillion, up 19.3% and accounted for 11.7% of the total revenue.

Tourism and services respectively hit VND 13.7 trillion (up 26.6%) and VND 131.4 trillion (up21.7%) against the same period last year.

In July, the total retail sales were estimated at VND 189.2 trillion, up 0.12% against last month.

Commercial sector still dominated the July’s total revenue with around VND 145.6 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 0.09%./.
