Laos stock market July 24

European debt worries had no impact on the Lao LSX trading yesterday.

BCEL was the only stock to cross by the 9-30am session Tuesday with 2.3K for 16.2mil kip and another 2.7K shares in the 4th session.

Investors mulled over the price of EDL-Gen with no matching stocks traded in the first 2 sessions but by the 3rd call auction close at 10am there were 50K stocks that managed to appear, but again the price remained unchanged.

By the 1030 close trading strengthened when a convenient total of 96K stocks raced past the previous days 70K stocks. It was 90,000 EDL-Gen stocks leading the charge early yesterday followed by 6,000 BCEL stocks.

BCEL then had another good day with 22,000 shares traded by the close, its highest volumes since the 29th June when the stock was at 6,800 kip.

Yesterday BCEL closed unchanged at 7,050 kip.

EDL-Gen had its best volumes in 3 weeks at a bargain 4,700 kip, trading reaching 206,245 stocks by the close of the market at 11-30am.
