The Joint Development Bank (JDB) recently opened a full service unit in Vangvieng district, Vientiane province, aiming to provide comprehensive banking services for foreign and local people.
“JDB saw that Vangvieng had potential in many areas especially tourism, so the bank decided to extend its service to foreign and local people,” JDB Director and General Manager Mr Saroge Singsomboon said at the opening ceremony.
The bank opened in 1989 and on October 3 this year will mark its 23rd anniversary.
JDB has been operating successfully since the bank began its activities, thanks to assistance from the government as well as some private concerns, boosting confidence and helping to generate income.
“The bank is continuously developing its capabilities in order to provide customers with a convenient, accurate, fast and transparent service,” said Mr Saroge.
He said the unit in Vangvieng district will offer deposit accounts in Lao kip, Thai baht and US dollars, ATM cards, Visa credit and debit cards, currency exchange, cash advances and MoneyGrams. Additionally, it will offer issue insurance documents, documents for depositing money, payroll deposits, and domestic and foreign money transfers.
Mr Saroge hoped the service unit in Vangvieng district would be an important step for the bank to expand its services and contributions to economic development.
