Illegal gold mining at a section of the Dak Rong River in the central province of Quang Tri.

The local People's Committee has issued a decision to revoke gold mining licences from four enterprises for violations. Local residents and mining companies have left the province scarred by gouging mountainsides and digging up riverbanks and beds.
