Two more companies to list with Lao Securities Exchange

Lao Development Bank and Enterprise Telecommunications Laos (ETL) will enter into the Lao Securities Exchange (LSX) at the end of this year, said last week Director of Management and Service Section of the LSX, Mr. Viengkham Vanhsilalom.

The two state enterprises have been offered listing for shares transaction with the LSX, which now is on discussion and expects the shares of two companies to be bought and sold in the LSX.

He added that the registration of two companies would be a significant contribution to securities exchange in the LSX and offering more options for domestic and foreign investors, and attract investment.

The stocks transaction in the Lao PDR started on 11 January 2011, which had two companies listing with the LSX, such the Electricite du Laos and Banque pour le commerce du Laos.

The securities exchange has run smoothly and provided credits for investors, so far this year.

On average of 2.4 million, out of 900 million registered stocks have being transacted every day, representing 1.7 billion kip. The largest investor in the LSX is China, followed by Thailand and Japan.
