Lao stock market turnover to reach US$2 million today

Trading on the LSX was slightly more subdued than Tuesday's record turnover of 2.13 billion kip, and volumes fell back on yesterday's record to 313,854 shares and exchanged for 2.38 billion kip (US$293,898), but at a much higher share price than Tuesday.

Trading for Wednesday was still 10 percent above the daily average, with the total number of shares since opening reaching 2.13 million.

EDL Gen has posted consistent daily gains averaging 3.87 percent and looks headed comfortably towards closing this week near or above 6,000 kip.

BCEL has an impressive 12.69 percent average daily gain and is trending towards the 15,000 kip mark.

In the past 5 days of trading, neither share has reached a resistance level.

To date the LSX index has climbed steadily by 12 percent to close at a new high yesterday of 1219.68 points.

So far 2.13 million combined shares have traded beyond expectations for 14.04 billion kip (US$1,738,636).
