Shares end higher in morning trading

Shares continued to rally, with the benchmark VN-Index adding 0.6 per cent to close at 608.71 points.

 

The trading value and volume were lower than yesterday morning's level, reaching VND1.5 trillion (US$70.7 million) and 87.5 million shares respectively.

Among the 30 largest stocks led by capitalisation and liquidity, only four declined, namely rubber companies Casumina (CSM) and Da Nang Rubber (DRC), property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) and Refrigeration Electric Engineering (REE).

Meanwhile, more than half of the blue chips ended higher. The index closed at 656 points, up 0.4 per cent.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased 0.5 per cent to end at 89.09 points. The HNX30 Index, comprising the exchange's top shares, also rose 0.4 per cent to stand at 183.09 points.

Investors traded about 50.8 million shares in the morning, worth VND633.7 billion ($29.8 million).
