Stocks slide as investors seek profit

Shares continued to slide this morning on both the stock exchanges because investors unloaded them to make cash profits.

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index lost another 0.72 per cent to end at 625.83 points, while the VN30, which tracks the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, was down 0.79 per cent to finish at 663.15 points.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also inched down 0.69 per cent to close at 88.80 points.

Liquidity remained high with a total of over 145 million shares, worth VND2.32 trillion (nearly US$110 million), being traded on the two markets by the end of the morning.

FLC Group (FLC) was again the most active stock nationwide, with 19.2 million shares of its shares being traded.

Trading will resume at 1pm.
