Stocks end higher on both bourses

Shares rose slightly this morning on both the stock exchanges.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 88.06 points, registering an increase of 0.35 per cent.

With 36 million shares being traded, the value of the transactions reached VND512.6 billion (US$24.1 million).

The HNX30 Index, tracking the bourse's top 30 shares, added 0.6 per cent to close at 180.68 points.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose just 0.01 per cent to touch 610.44 points on a total turnover of VND1.17 trillion ($55.1 million).

Among the 30 largest blue chips tracked by the VN30 Index, five tumbled while 16 advanced. Owner of a retail bakery chain Kinh Do (KDC) posted the highest increase of 2.5 per cent.
