Domestic bourses climb in morning trading

After experiencing a slight drop yesterday, the VN-Index on the HCM City Exchange closed higher this morning to end at 603.58 points, a rise of 0.62 per cent.

 

With more than 101 million shares changing hands, the total trading value reached VND1.7 trillion, or $80.9 million.

Most of the blue chip stocks posted gains this morning, boosting the VN30-Index which tracks the bourse's largest shares, to add 4.3 points or 0.64 per cent to end at 677.98 points.

Among these, only five codes lost value, while five others closed at their reference prices this morning.

The gainers included FPT Group, Hoa Phat Group, Kinh Do Corporation and Bao Viet Group.

On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 88.51 points, a rise of 1.04 per cent, while the HNXFF-Index, comprising stocks with a minimum free floating rate of 5 per cent, ended at 88.82 points, gaining 1.16 per cent.

The HNX30-Index added 1.65 per cent to finish at 180.29 points.

More than 72 million shares, with a trading value of VND754.9 billion, or $35.9 million, were traded this morning.
