Shares rise slightly in early trading

Shares closed slightly higher this morning on both the national stock exchanges.

 

On the HCM City Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.53 per cent to end at 593.13 points.

Liquidity was high with a total trading value of VND1.3 trillion, or US$619 million, on the exchange of more than 78 million shares.

The VN30-Index, tracking the 30 largest stocks of the southern bourse, edged up 0.34 per cent to close at 666.08 points.

Bao Viet Group (BVH), PetroVietnam Drilling Corporation (PVD) and Hia Pht Group (HPG) were among the losers.

Vinamilk (VNM) added VND4,000, or $0.19, per share this morning.

On the Ha Noi Exchange, more than 55.7 million shares changed hands with a total value of VND488 billion, or $23.2 million.

The HNX-Index edged up 0.15 per cent to end at 83.29 points, while the HNXFF-Index ad?ed 0.28 points, closing this morning at 83.2 points.

Tracking the top stocks, the HNX30-Index finished at 166.78 points, a rise of 0.36 per cent.
