Ascott to launch its premier brand of services residences in Vietnam

Asian leading property group CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), recently secured a contract to manage the 222-unit Ascott Waterfront Saigon from Canh Hung Hai Thanh Corporation, an affiliate company under the management of M.I.K Corporation, a leading professional real estate developer in Vietnam.

The river-front property, located in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, will be the first Ascott-branded serviced residence in Vietnam and Ascott’s latest among its portfolio of 13 properties in the country when it opens in 2016.

The premier Ascott The Residence brand combines lavish living space featuring plush interiors and state-of-art amenities with discreet and personable service to create a luxurious living catering to the needs of senior business executives and industry leaders.

Tony Soh, Ascott’s chief corporate officer in charge of overseeing the company’s business in Vietnam, said “The entry of Ascott’s flagship brand in Ho Chi Minh City marks another important milestone since we pioneered Asia Pacific’s first international-class serviced residence in Singapore 30 years ago and in Vietnam 20 years ago. Since opening our first serviced residence, Somerset West Lake Hanoi, in 1994, we have steadily grown to become Vietnam’s largest international serviced residence owner-operator.”

“We also hope to introduce our third award-winning brand, the Citadines Apart’Hotel, targeting independent and savvy travellers, to Vietnam in the near future. We intend to leverage on our excellent operating track record, strong brand awareness and business network to fuel our continued expansion via a combination of investments, management contracts, and franchises,” Soh added.

Mark Chan, Ascott’s country general manager for Vietnam said “Ho Chi Minh City remains a key gateway city and economic hub for Vietnam, attracting business travellers from across the globe. We are thus delighted to partner with M.I.K Corporation and combine their development expertise with our award-winning hospitality capabilities to create the flagship Ascott Waterfront Saigon which will set a new benchmark for luxury living in Vietnam.”

Michael Dang, general director of M.I.K Corporation said, “Our partnership with Ascott is in keeping with our vision to bring world class living standards to Vietnam. Ascott Waterfront Saigon brings together the design excellence of reputable companies and the impeccable service of the internationally renowned Ascott brand.”

“Besides, we also cater to the fast growing property demand of Vietnam by developing premier condominium like Imperia An Phu, The Park Residence and luxury compound villas like Villa Park Riverside and many more other projects in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi,” Dang noted.

Ascott Waterfront Saigon is part of a commercial building that also comprises an office podium that will house luxury corporate office of local banks.

It has a prime address in Ho Chi Minh City’s central business district, where many multinational companies and embassies are based.

The luxury serviced residence is also surrounded by Grade A offices such as Lim Tower and Bitexco Financial Tower as well as prime integrated developments such as Times Square and Vincom Centre.

When Ascott Waterfront Saigon opens, it will provide spacious and elegantly-designed apartments, ranging from studio to four-bedroom penthouse units that come with fully-equipped kitchens, separate work and dining areas.

To provide top business executives with luxurious living, Ascott Waterfront Saigon also offers a wide range of facilities including a city-view fitness centre and clubhouse, infinity pool, rooftop bar and restaurant, children’s playground and ancillary retail outlets.
