Housing spaces increase in HCM City

An additional housing space of 8.3 million sq.m was developed in this southern city this year, reported Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Hua Ngoc Thuan.

During a local meeting on urban management held on December 9, Thuan disclosed that the city has completed the construction of 128 infrastructure projects using its 2014 budget. In addition, the vice chairman disclosed that the local property market has been exhibiting signs of recovery.

During 2011-14, the city had 32.8 million sq.m of new housing floors, which allocated an average area of 16.9sq.m per citizen.

In the coming months, the city will continue to streamline land reserve proposals and supermarket and trade centre systems. In addition, it will seek investments in new urban areas and social dwellings, Thuan shared.
