BMW launches in Laos with new showroom

Premium Auto Laos, the official importer and distributor of BMW has officially launched its first showroom in the country, aiming to provide vehicle buyers in Laos with the first choice in luxury cars that employ high end German technology.

The grand opening of the new sales and afte-sales service centre took place on 23 Singha Road, Nongbone village in Xaysettha district, Vientiane. Premium Auto Laos is set to provide a wide range of BMW vehicles as the brand is targeting a larger share of the new car market in Laos.

Premium Auto Laos is also aiming to provide a premium end-to-end experience that transcends beyond just the buying of a BMW, but throughout the entire ownership. Their approach is to provide its customers with the products that best cater to their needs and back it up with after sales service and advice.

Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Nam Viyaket, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Sounthone Xayachack, BMW Group Asia, Mr Sergio Solero and other Lao senior officials witnessed the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of Premium Auto Laos, Mr Hyo Gun Kwag (Peter) said the first BMW showroom in Laos aims to provide BMW customers with an experience that they truly deserve.

“Despite being part of the Kolao Group, Premium Auto Laos is truly independent in terms of its operations,” he said.

He informed guests at the opening that his company has been receiving queries from enthusiastic customers ever since there was initial news of BMW's arrival into Laos.

“It is apparent that local customers are very excited about BMW even before the brand is officially launched. Therefore, we are confident that BMW cars will be well-received locally,” he said.

The targets of Premium Auto Laos will be skewed towards the type of models that they are retailing, including the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW X models and BMW Z4 Roadster.

Mr Peter added that the opening of the Lao showroom will effectively bring BMW Group Asia's current portfolio up to 14 markets, including Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Guam, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Mongolia, Cambodia, Myanmar and now Laos.

BMW is a world renowned premium car brand and Premium Auto Laos is part of the biggest automotive group in Laos who have a local presence tracing back to the 1990s.

The showroom complex has a total of 2,850sq m of floor space, including display, workshop and warehouse areas. The ground floor has an area of over 905 sq m, which will display up to 12 new cars and a mezzanine floor of 823 sq m of space is planned for future expansion.
