Brokerage, property firms lift local markets this morning

Vietnamese shares bounced back this morning from the recent falls as securities and property firms attracted attention from investors.

 

The benchmark VN Index on the HCM Stock Exchange gained 0.4 per cent to close at 606.98 points and the HNX Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange inched up 0.2 per cent to end at 81.23 points.

Securities firms were the centre of attention this morning after falling in the previous sessions.

The largest brokerage companies on the stock market - Sai Gon Securities Inc (SSI), HCM Securities Corp (HCM) and VNDirect Securities Corp (VND) - made gains.

SSI added 1.5 per cent, HCM rose 2.4 per cent and VND moved up 1.8 per cent.

Real estate traders also recorded good gains, including Vingroup JSC (VIC), Tan Tao Investment Industrial JSC (ITA) and Kinh Bac City Development Share Holding Corp (KBC).

These stocks advanced 2 per cent, 2.3 per cent and 5 per cent, respectively.

The two agricultural firms, Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC (HAG) and HAGL Agricultural JSC (HNG), were up 1.3 per cent and 2.6 per cent from Thursday's declines.

Both local markets traded more than 95.6 million shares worth VND1.3 trillion (US$58.2 million).
