Shares advance on both stock exchanges
Shares on the HCM City Exchange rallied this morning, especially the blue chips tracked by the VN30 Index that rose 0.46 per cent to close at 615.45 points.
Only six of the 30 largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity retreated. Meanwhile, 11 stocks posted gains. Commercial baker Kinh Do (KDC) hit the ceiling price. Logistics firm Gemadept (GMD) added 2.3 per cent and Vinamilk (VNM) added 3.5 per cent.
The benchmark VN-Index increased by 0.59 per cent to stand at 584.07 points, on a total turnover of VND1.16 trillion (US$54.4 million).
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 87.03 points, gaining 0.02 per cent.
The trading value reached nearly VND496.7 billion ($23.3 million), as investors traded 33.1 million shares.
The top 30 stocks on the northern bourse lifted the HNX30 Index by 0.12 per cent to finish at 168.82 points.
