Vietbuild construction expo opens in Ha Noi

Enterprises in the construction industry are showcasing their latest products at the 2014 Vietbuild International Exhibition which opens at the Viet Nam Exhibition and Fair Centre here today.

A total of 315 domestic and foreign companies, including enterprises from 12 countries and territories such as Singapore, Thailand, Japan and Italy, are taking part in the annual five-day event.

The Ministry of Construction and the Ha Noi People's Committee jointly organised the exhibition, entitled "Real Estate, Interior-Exterior Design, Construction Materials and Construction," which runs until November 23.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Construction Minister Nguyen Tran Nam said the event served as a bridge connecting enterprises, as well as their potential partners and customers.

Nam noted that the exposition offered chances for enterprises to do research on customers needs, introduce new products and formulate and implement better business strategies.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, vice chairman of the Ha Noi Peoples Committee, said the event would help all participating enterprises expand their business co-operation, thereby helping to promote the construction sector in particular and the countrys socio-development in general.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Nguyen Dinh Hung, chairman of the board of Vietbuild Construction International Exhibition Corporation, said the event featured 1,170 booths displaying the latest achievements of participating enterprises, including more than 24 real estate projects.

He added that the exhibition included seminars on various themes, including products for smart homes and renewable energy, as well as new products in the construction sector that were now being introduced to the market.

Lam Quoc Chinh, director of the Ha Noi-based Chinh Nghia Materials Trading Ltd. Company, said this was the fifth time his company had showcased products in the exhibition.

"I think that the expo is very useful because more customers have come to ask about our new materials, including silk fibers to decorate their walls," Chinh said. "Our turnover has also increased gradually ever since we displayed our products at the Vietbuild expos."
