Vietinbank pledges $81.9m for highway project

Vietinbank will provide VND1.72 trillion (US$81.90 million) in funding for a national highway project of the Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (CII) in Ninh Thuan province.

Le Quoc Binh, CII general director, made the announcement in a news release on Monday, saying the amount earmarked for the National Highway 1 expansion work in the south-central province included loans and guaranteed money.

Under a comprehensive co-operation agreement signed in October last year, the bank pledged to help provide capital for the company and its member units.

The company's shares on Tuesday closed 0.4 point lower at VND21,800, or $1.04 per share, at the HCM City Stock Exchange.
