All new German luxury car unveiled in Vientiane

Mercedes Benz, one of the world's top class luxury vehicle manufacturers unveiled the new C-Class at a launch ceremony in Vientiane last Friday, attracting a large number of interested vehicle buyers.

 

Auto Lao Company Limited arranged the event at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane to present one of the most high tech cars from the German automaker yet.

Hundreds of people attended the gala event which presented the history of the motor manufacturer since its arrival in Laos, which are sold in the country through the Auto Lao Company.

During the event, the master of ceremonies presented the most classic Mercedes Benz model in Lao, a190SL owned by Mr Alom Thavonsouk before introducing the latest model offering, the new C-Class which is now available in Laos.

According to the company, Laos is the second country in Asia to import this model of Mercedes Benz. Salesmen said its superiority creates room for passion, its style is sporty, emotional and impressive.

It is the most outstanding vehicle in the mid- premium segment featuring inspiring design and driving enjoyment. The customer has maximum configuration options between energising comfort and refined sportiness.

The new C-Class Saloon appeals to a heterogeneous customer group from successful young salaried employees to older classic representatives of the middle class.

The new C-Class also has new command online with an inbuilt touchpad while the multimedia system combines entertainment, information and communication. I t has a 20 CD audio system with a touchpad, internet capability, navigation, radio, twin tuner and also enables networking with mobile devices via Bluetooth.

The C Class also has an Airmatic agility package which is comprised of the Airmatic air suspen sion and the agility select switch that provides for a tailor-made driving experience. The driver has five different transmission modes at his or her fingertips – comfort-oriented, sporty, very sporty, efficient or completely individual.

After the official launch of the new C-Class, the German Ambassador to the Lao PDR, Mr Robert von Rimscha told members of the press that this was a very happy occasion and a great party as well.

“I congratulate Mercedes Benz for showcasing the new model of the new C-Class. This a very happy occasion for Mercedes Benz in Laos and Germany that introduces a high-tech German technology product to the Lao market.”

“I know many Lao people know exactly that German cars are of supreme quality so for the Lao audience, there are many leading German car brands here including Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen and others,” he explained.

Mr von Rimscha added that as German Ambassador, he was not a spokesperson for one particular make of car but he wanted to tell Lao people that top class technology and real innovation comes from German car producers who are gaining a bigger market share worldwide, including here in Laos.

He was very happy that Mercedes Benz and BMW are available here in Laos as well as other makers in the premium market such as Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen.

“Germany is internationally renowned for world class excellence and very innovative technology in the automotive field. Mercedes B enz is a shining example of it while other companies have the same good reputation, ” Mr von Rimscha said.

I am so happy that Germany has high technology products in the Lao PDR which are becoming more and more visible. That's very good because it shows that the Lao market is becoming more advanced,” he said.

Mr von Rimscha added that the Lao PDR has enjoyed economic success, and growth of more than eight percent, which is enabling more Lao citizens to be able to purchase high end German automobiles.

“I don't care if Lao people who can afford it by Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi or Volkswagen. They are all leading German car companies that produce excellent technology. German technology is all about innovation, innovation is at the core of German technology and German car manufacturers,” he said.

Mr von Rimscha acknowledged that seven million people is not biggest market in the world but noted that Laos has enjoyed very good economic success and so it is not at all surprising that companies like Mercedes Benz are here because while it is small the Lao market is still too big to ignore.

The Auto Lao Company Limited welcomes all interested customers to experience the new C-Class at its showroom on Asean Road in Oumoung village Sikhottabong district, Vientiane.
