ACB designated to test gold quality

The Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) was designated by the Ministry of Science and Technology to test the title and content of gold to ensure market management, this month.

The bank released this information on its website on Wednesday. It is the first unit in the domestic gold sector that has been certified by the ministry's Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality to provide the service.

The decision to implement the ministry's Circular 22/2013/TT-BKHCN, issued last September came into effect this June. It was meant to ensure inspection and management of the quality of gold jewellery and articles of fine art on the market.

State authorities will use the ACB measurement to deal with complaints of gold traders.
