Russia: Viet Nam's 18th largest foreign investor

Russia is Viet Nam's 18th largest source of foreign investment, with involvement in 97 projects worth US$1.95 billion, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment's Foreign Investment Agency.

Russian investments were made mostly in processing and manufacturing industries, with 34 projects valued at $1.1 billion; the mining industry, with 7 projects worth $581.2 million; and the real estate sector, with 3 projects worth $73 million.

Russian businesses have also invested in construction, wholesale items, retail, and repairs, as well as agriculture, forestry and seafood processing.

Viet Nam, meanwhile, has 19 projects in Russia, with capital totalling $2.47 billion.
