Shares struggle as large-caps falter

Shares struggled on Tuesday morning due to the losses of large-cap stocks.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the market benchmark VN-Index decreased 0.03 per cent to end the morning session at 1,174.71 points.

More than 338.6 million shares were traded on the southern exchange, worth VNĐ8.6 trillion (US$374.6 million).

The market breadth was negative with 185 stocks climbing, while 233.

The VN30-Index rose 0.12 per cent to 1.181,94 points.

twelve of 30 biggest stocks increased in the morning trading session, while sixteen stocks decreased.

The stock witnessing the biggest losses this morning was Vietcombank (VCB), VPBank (VPB), Techcombank (TCB), Military Bank (MBB) and HDBank (HDB).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also lost 1.24 per cent to 235.01 points.
