THACO launches all new KIA SORENTO with brand new design and technologies

Vietnamese conglomerate THACO on September 14 introduced the KIA SORENTO (All New), the latest generation of KIA’s reinvigorated SUV line-up with the latest chassis, engine and gearbox technologies from KIA and HYUNDAI.

Based on the design concept of ‘Refined Boldness,’ the KIA SORENTO (All New) boasts a modern, robust and tough look in the most harmonious proportions that add up to refinement and elegance.

Up front, the all-new KIA Sorento features the signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille that organically wraps around the integrated headlamps on each side, and the headlamps themselves feature a new ‘Tiger Eye’ design.

The double-layer grille and monolithic textured structure create depth when viewed from the front. The wind cavity harmonizes with the grille and sporty front bumper to create a dynamic look.

In the rear, the KIA SORENTO (All New) features new vertical tail lamps with sporty lines connecting the vehicle’s body sides to make it appear wider and more imposing.

The rear windshield wiper is cleverly hidden in the upper spoiler and appears only during operation.

With an overall length of 4,810 mm, a wheelbase of 2,815 mm and width of 1,900 mm, the KIA SORENTO (All New) has dimensions both outside and inside that are completely superior to other products in its segment.

Inside, the cabin has a new design that makes it exceedingly spacious, comfortable and sophisticated. The second and third rows can be folded completely flat to create a lot of flexible space that makes it perfect for long journeys with lots of luggage.

The dashboard features sophisticated next-generation technologies with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster twinned with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Air-conditioning door system simulates a jet engine design.

Included in the list of goodies are new haptic buttons for the screen and climate control located further down the console while its Mood Lighting system provides soft ambient downlighting from beneath the dashboard and door trim to help create a lounge-like feel.

KIA SORENTO (All New) is the first SUV from the HYUNDAI - KIA Automotive Group to use the synchronous chassis New Life Flatform - a new generation of Smartstream engine and gearbox that are designed to create an inspiring experience, optimise performance, save fuel, and be environmentally friendly.

Another highlight of the fourth-generation Sorento is that it comes with four driving modes: Comfort / Eco / Sport / Smart (Smart mode will automatically switch between the remaining three modes to suit the drivers’ habits).

For the first time the KIA SORENTO (All New) is equipped with the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) with extensive driver assistance functions.

They include a 360 degree camera, a new blind-spot view monitor, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, and smart cruise control.

The KIA SORENTO (All New) is also equipped with a range of other safety features such as anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (BA), Electronic balance (ESP), hill start assist control (HAC), front and rear parking assist sensors, rear view camera, anti-theft warning, and anti-copy key.

An interesting feature is the remote start via a smart electronic key that helps users start and cool the car remotely.

The intelligent heating and cooling system on the vehicle has the ability to automatically turn on the seat cooling or the steering wheel heating to adjust the temperature as desired.

In Viet Nam, THACO has introduced the KIA SORENTO (All-New) in two versions, diesel and petrol, with prices ranging from VND1.079-1.349 billion (US$46,413-58,027).

The 2.2-litre diesel range comprises Signature, Premium, Luxury, and Deluxe. The first two come equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.

The KIA SORENTO (All New) comes in nine colours – glacial white pearl, silky silver, steel grey, essence brown, aurora black pearl, runway red, sunset red, gravity blue, and mineral blue (new colour).

The KIA SORENTO (All New) comes with a three-year unlimited warranty plus two-year unlimited extended warranty.

After merging to become the HYUNDAI-KIA Automotive Group, South Korea’s two leading auto brands, HYUNDAI and KIA, have developed together with a unique and effective business strategy.

All research and development activities are carried out at three international centres in Korea, Germany and the US to come up with products for both brands that are equipped with the most modern technologies.

Thus, HYUNDAI and KIA are always pioneers in new technologies in the global auto industry.
