Interest in land lots in Ba Ria-Vung Tau rises

While many people are showing interest in purchasing apartments in HCMC, land lots are the most preferred property product in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

A report on the real estate market in the second quarter published by website batdongsan.com.vn indicates that the level of interest in apartments in HCMC has risen by 23% year-on-year and the prices of this property type have risen by 2.1% against the year-ago period.

Meanwhile, the purchase of land lots in some districts in the city dropped, with District 9 and Binh Chanh District seeing the strongest declines, at 36% year-on-year. Thu Duc District faced the same fate, with interest in land lots falling by 24%.

Between April and June, interest in real estate in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province skyrocketed by 90% year-on-year, the highest rise among the three provinces in the southeastern region, whereas Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces enjoyed increases of 64% and 50%, respectively, in interest in purchasing property.

In the second quarter, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province witnessed interest in land for projects surge by 130% year-on-year.

“Recently, many customers have sought out land lots, mainly large ones of hundreds of square meters, in the province,” Nguyen Thanh Toan, a real-estate broker, told the Saigon Times, adding that the number of successful transactions had also risen slightly.
