Aeon Mall 2 is officially inaugurated

The $120 million Aeon Mall 2, located in the capital’s Sen Sok district and expected to receive 14 million visitors a year, was officially launched on Wednesday, according to the senior management of Aeonmall Co Ltd.

Seiichi Chiba, senior manager of Aeonmall Co Ltd, said Aeon Mall 2 is one of the most sophisticated malls in the world.

“We can say that Aeon Mall 2 is a model for the Asean region, in planning, environment, and in the use of modern technology,” Chiba said at the official launch.

He said with the Kingdom’s strong annual economic growth, the company expects to expand, with another mall planned for Cambodia in the future.

Tetsuyuki Nakagawa, managing director of Aeonmall Cambodia Co Ltd, said that since the soft launch on May 30, Aeon Mall 2 has received about 30,000 visitors per day, while that figure increased to 80,000 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Aeon Mall 2 offers a range of amenities, including entertainment services , public service providers and financial centres.

Currently in the Southeast Asia, there are eight Aeon malls, located in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, while Aeon Mall 2 is the largest, according to Chiba. He said the company expects to expand its investment to Myanmar in the future.
