VinaCapital funds outperform benchmarks

VinaCapital Fund Management Joint Stock Company has said its funds ended the first quarter on a high note, with all of them significantly outperforming their respective benchmarks on both year-to-date and three-year bases.

Its VinaCapital Equity Special Access Fund (VINACAPITAL-VESAF), VinaCapital Equity Opportunity Fund (VINACAPITAL-VEOF), and VinaCapital Modern Economy Equity Fund (VINACAPITAL-VMEEF) gave returns of 14.4 per cent, 16.4 per cent and 18.1 per cent against the VN-Index’s 13.7 per cent.

The Insights Balanced Fund (VINACAPITAL-VIBF), and VinaCapital Enhanced Fixed Income Fund (VINACAPITAL-VFF) gave 15.5 per cent and 1.8 per cent returns compared to their benchmarks’ 7.5 per cent and 1.2 per cent.

On a three-year annualised basis, as of March 31, 2024, VINACAPITAL-VESAF led with a return of 17.8 per cent per annum, followed by VINACAPITAL-VEOF with 15.2 per cent. Both significantly outperformed their benchmark and retained their rankings as the market’s best performing open-ended funds, respectively first and second.

The balanced fund, VINACAPITAL-VIBF recorded a three-year annualised return of 10.7 per cent per annum, outperforming its benchmark’s return of 4 per cent.

VINACAPITAL-VFF, the bond fund, locked in a three-year annualised return of 8 per cent while its benchmark’s three-year annualised return was 5.6 per cent.

The total assets under management by the five open-ended funds were worth VNĐ4.68 trillion (US$185.43 million), a 51.3 per cent increase year-on-year.

They had 55,000 investors as of March 31.
