WeWork makes official debut in Vietnam

WeWork, a platform for creators that provides the space, community, and services to help people make a life, not just a living, made official inroads to Vietnam with its first location at E-Town Central in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 4 to open in early December.

Kicking off its deeper expansion into Southeast Asia, WeWork E-Town Central will be able to accommodate 1,000+ members across the four floors of the building, with other locations in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in its 2019 pipeline.

With convenient access to the CBD and new urban areas, WeWork E-Town Central paves the way for accelerating the future of work in an area looking towards massive riverside development transformation. Highlighting WeWork’s commitment to uphold the highest standards, the E-Town building meets the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard, marking this a globally-recognized symbol of sustainability.

Fortifying its reach in Ho Chi Minh City as part of its expanding Southeast Asian footprint, WeWork has grown to 12 locations with more than 6,000 members across the region. WeWork’s debut in Vietnam is testament to its overarching regional strategy. The company will also advance into other markets with upcoming locations in Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur by the end of this year.

“There is no better time to be here than now,” said Turochas Fuad, managing director of WeWork Southeast Asia. “We are also seeing demand from our existing global members in other markets, such as Fortune 500 companies and leading financial institutions who are looking to us as a solution to grow their local ecosystem and networks as well as a collaborative community for fostering innovations here in Vietnam.”

“As Vietnam transitions beyond its manufacturing and labour-intensive industries, it is home to a rising millennial population that is changing the face of how we work today. With WeWork stepping in as a solution in bridging enterprises in winning the talent war and for companies to sustain talent retention, traditional spaces are transformed into work environments that are responsive to the professional needs and stylistic preferences of today’s mobile, creative, and entrepreneurial workforce.”

Members like Aleph Labs, a digital experience company based in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, are part of incoming members looking for a dynamic environment that enables agility and collaboration. “Undoubtedly, WeWork is a desirable space that can spur creativity and inspiration without worries about the hassle of sourcing space, negotiating rental agreements, and overseeing renovations,” said Uyen Nguyen, managing director of Aleph Vietnam.

With WeWork’s entry into Vietnam spelling great potential for yielding a new horizon of creators shaping creativity, innovation, and impact, members like GForces Vietnam accelerating digital transformation programmes for manufacturers and their retail networks joining WeWork Vietnam’s community will help to also serve as a springboard for supporting the growth of multinational and local companies, along with startups looking to scale up their business abroad and be empowered by WeWork’s global network.
