Petrol prices stable, oil prices decrease slightly

The ministries of industry and trade and finance announced that the price of E5 should not be higher than VND19,611 per litre (84 US cents), RON 95 VND21,177 per litre and diesel 0.05S and kerosene should not be higher than VND17.242 per litre and VND16,174 per litre, respectively.

The two ministries also decided to keep the use of the petrol price stabilisation fund unchanged.

Accordingly, the use of the fund for bio-fuel E5 RON92 was VND853 per litre, RON95 VND95 per litre, and mazut VND70 per kilo.

The petrol price stabilisation fund has been used constantly and at a high level, particularly for petrol products, to mitigate the impacts of rising global commercial oil and petrol prices and contribute to curbing inflation.

The two ministries review fuel prices every 15 days to adjust the prices in accordance with fluctuations on the world market. The global price for RON92, which is the base for the production of E5 petrol, stood at $80.2 per barrel in the 15-day period prior to July 23. RON95 was sold at $82.1 per barrel, diesel 0.05S $84.6 per barrel, kerosene $86.6 per barrel, and FO 180CST 3.5S $453.2 per tonne. In the previous adjustment on July 7, the two ministries decided to maintain selling prices of petrol and slightly increase oil prices.
