VIR to hold roundtable talk on consumer finance market

Vietnam Investment Review, the official press release of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), and E.Life will co-host a roundtable talk about “Opportunities to Foster Consumption and Economic Growth” to provide multidimensional information about the development of the Vietnamese consumer finance market.

The roundtable talk will take place from 9 AM to 11.30 AM on July 12, 2017 in VIR headquarters, at 47 Quan Thanh Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.

It will focus on the current situation and opportunities for the development of the consumer finance market in Vietnam, the role of the consumer finance market in fostering consumption in the society and economic growth, international experiences and lessons for Vietnam.

With the population of 95 million, there is an upward trend in the shopping demand for both valuable assets, such as apartments and cars, and less valuable items, such as home appliances, mobile phones, and motorbikes. This feature is considered a favourable condition for the development of the Vietnamese consumer finance market.

The roundtable talk’s invitees include leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam, independent financial experts, as well as leaders of commercial banks and consumer finance companies.
